LEGAL & FINANCIAL The property is beneficially
owned by a trust set up especially in 1986 to own and manage the property.
Partners do not own a freehold piece of land, rather
they are granted a licence to occupy their site by the trustees, and
there are provisions for a partner to be able to onsell to a new partner.
The cost of entry is currently about $40,000.00, and
this is adjusted annually to take into account inflation. This does
not include any buildings, but does include an allowance to connect
electricity and provide road access to the house site. All dwellings
must have building consents and comply with local government standards.
We know that becoming a partner in this kind of project
is a big commitment, and therefore we have a rule that prospective partners
live on the property for at least 6 months before they actually make
that commitment. We hope that this will give time for you to get a realistic
impression of what life will be like here, and base your decision on
that.
It is likely that we will be able to rent you a house
on the property for that time.
